Before adopting a bearded dragon

Adopting an animal is not trivial. It has to be a carefully considered decision. Here is some basic information you should know before adopting a bearded dragon.

Life Span: 8 to 12 years

Biotope: Semi-arid

Lighting : Heat lamp, 12 to 14h per day, UVB

Food : Omnivorous, Insects: crickets, waxworm, butterworm, soldier fly larvae, goliath worm, silkworm, mealworm, superworms, snail, Repashy grub pie, Repashy veggy, ZooMed canned omnivorous lizard, berries, ZooMed canned food with fruits, calcium supplements and multivitamin, lettuce, fruits, vegetables

Substrate: Natural sand, Clay sand or ground walnut

Terrarium: Minimum 90×50×50 cm (36’’×18’’×12’’), shelter and water bowl

Molting: Give it a lukewarm water bath to help it, an electrolyte bath can also help, so can heavily vaporizing the Shedding Aid

Necessary items : Terrarium, substrate, thermometer, hygrometer, hiding places, heating mat or heating ballast with bulb, foliage, food clip, decoration, thermostat, branches, lianas, sphagnum moss, water bowl, calcium and multivitamin
